Looking forward to finding out who is keeping bees in and around Brooklyn, Aro Valley and Highbury to share knowledge and arrange a meet or two.

Request from Brooklyn Neighbours on Aston Fitchet

Kia ora everyone.

Just had a request on the Brooklyn community FB Page to ask any Beekeeper with Hives up near Ashton Fitchett or Karepa St to please turn your hives around. People near the start of Ashton Fitchett ( around no.5-14) have been suffering a lot of bee poop.

Rather than lay a complaint, they've just asked if the Beek can come have a chat to them and see if the hives can be redirected if poss. Just jump on the Brooklyn community page or see Denesh at no 14 Ashton Fitchett.

Cheers.

Can anyone spare a 3/4...

Can anyone spare a 3/4 brood frame? One of my hives hit hard by mites despite having Bayvarol in for 5 weeks now. Down to one box and bugger all brood. Have changed treatments and will also get some formic acid in there, but am in need of giving the brood a boost. My other hive is full height so can't swap a frame over. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm in Brooklyn.

Another Brooklynite

Just posting here to say 'Hi' as another Brooklynite.
I'm a new beekeeper and naturally keen to help anyone around my area for sheer experience. I've NUC coming in November so want to be sure I'm ready and don't kill my lovely ladies in short order.

If anyone wants to have an informal get-together at the Penthouse or Caribe Cafe t'would be great if we can get a few of us along.
